Don't you love stories that start with "Once Upon a Time..."? Well, this one starts sort of like that too...or maybe it just starts with a friend's sister needing a favor for a project she's working on. The emails are bounced back and forth and pretty soon the conversation has changed from "the project" to "recipes". Rolls actually, and little green bean bundles. And then there are the FAVULOUS lemon tarts, and this really tasty shrimp cocktail and before you know it...the Food Fest'rs have been created.
So what started as a Saturday get together to share 3-4 recipes turned into an event the Food Network would have loved to have taped "for future release." By the end of the evening we had shrimp cocktail, green salad with a maple syrup/rice vinegar dressing, melt-in-your-mouth rolls, game hens with rosemary and balsamic vinegar, coconut macadamia chicken with a cranberry sauce, almond rice pilaf, green bean bundles, a fruit plate with coconut cream dip (also used with the macadamia chicken), and to-die-for lemon tarts. Did I miss anything? Oh yes, See's chocolates.

So for all those inquiring minds out there...here's the pictorial report of a FAVULOUS night with FOUR FAVULOUS FRIENDS and several bonuses...aprons and chef hats, lots of show and tell, a Cinderella story, a little song, three wooden spoons, take home bags, and LOTS OF LAUGHTER! **Special thanks to our hired help who cleaned up after most of us left! We owe that man dinner...hang on...we ALREADY gave him dinner! Even-Stevens, eh Ralph?

now did you just get together to cook, or were you cooking for someone? Thats a lot of food. It makes my "stralls" drool just looking at it. Love the chef attire.
This reminds me of the "Spring Sing" I attended once upon a time...fun stuff...this looks like something I would LOVE! Great idea...my "dervan" in rumbling looking at all that scrumptiousness. But seriously, were you serious about Saturday? What if we're not here?
LOVELY. That looked so good.
How delightful!! Did CJ have anything to do with the favors and the chef hats? It sure looks like something she would do. Everything looks scrumptious. Don't you just love girlfriend get-togethers?! It is a stress reliever and soo... "yotras". And we all need a little "yotras" once in a while, am I rigt?!?
Actually CJ had EVERYTHING to do with the "favors"...who knew that by being taught how to make a tart, you'd get the equipment too so there would be NO reason to call CJ up and ask her to make them for you! SHNEAKY CJ!!
Okay Carol. That was a mean post . . . (partially because I'm hungry)where are the recipes for all these fine foods?
